A Letter from the PTSA President
Welcome Hale Charter Academy families to the 2011-2012 school year! I am pleased to begin my job as your PTSA President and grateful to be working with a wonderful group of volunteers on our PTSA Executive Board. These volunteers dedicate their time and expertise to help and support Hale’s staff and students in many ways, and I thank them for their service.
If you would like information on Hale PTSA and would like to be on our email list, register now so you don’t miss out! We will be sending out emails with information on meeting dates and times, activities and events during the year. It is the best way to stay informed!
We will be having our PTSA Membership and Pledge Drives the last two weeks of September. Keep your eyes open for the letters and forms that will come home with your child (and that you will receive in the mail as well) telling you all about it. PTSA membership is $5.00, and this year, we will be recommending a Pledge Drive donation of $250.00 per child attending Hale. You can make your pledge donation now by visiting our website and using PayPal or you can wait to receive our letter and send in a check. Remember to get your tax deductible donations in on time so you don’t miss the September 30th deadline.
We plan on having both a fall and a spring fundraiser this year, as well as an online silent auction. Two great ways you can help to raise money for Hale right now are eScrip and Box Tops for Education. To sign up for eScrip, go to www.escrip.com, and register your grocery loyalty cards, and debit and credit cards for use in the program. Participating business partners will contribute a percentage of your purchases to your chosen group just by using the cards you have registered. If you have already signed up for eScrip, please remember to update your group to Hale Middle School. Our eScrip Group ID is 139438481.
With Box Tops for Education, you can earn money for our school by clipping Box Tops coupons from participating grocery products and turning them in to the Main Office or in Advisory class. The complete list of Box Tops products is available on their website at www.boxtops4education.com . Each box top is worth 10 cents to our school.
We hope that you will join us for our PTSA meetings each month! Our first PTSA meeting this year will be held on Monday, September 26th at 6:00 p.m. in the Library. Our meetings are usually held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, but may vary due to holidays and scheduling conflicts, so please register to get our emails or check the website to confirm dates and times. At this time we plan on alternating our meetings from evening (6:00 p.m.) to daytime (1:45 p.m.) each month to accommodate schedules, but if we find one time better than the other it may change.
